Program Start:
Your adventure begins with a pre-safari pickup from Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to your hotel. The climb program officially starts the following morning.
Mount Meru is Tanzania’s second-highest mountain and is highly recommended for travelers seeking a personal challenge while experiencing the breathtaking beauty of high-altitude nature.
Climbers have flexible options: you can choose a shorter or longer trek depending on your fitness level. Strong and experienced hikers may complete the climb in 3 days and 2 nights, while the standard itinerary is 4 days and 3 nights, which is ideal for travelers who prefer a slower pace.
Health and Age Recommendations:
It is strongly advised to consult your doctor before attempting the climb.
Children under 15 years are generally not permitted to climb.
Children aged 7–14 years may climb only if accompanied by parents who accept full responsibility for any risks. Physically fit children usually have no problems completing the trek under parental supervision.

Itinerary
From Momela Gate to Miriakamba Hut
On the first day of hiking, you will start with a ranger escort through Arusha National Park. You will spot wildlife animals such as giraffes, buffalo, antelopes, zebras, and colobus monkeys. The forest is also rich with a number of birds such as turacos, hornbills, and many more. You will also come across scenic spots such as the Ngarenanyuki River and the iconic Fig Tree Arch. Enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the surrounding highlands, diverse vegetation, and wild animalas.
Miriakamba Hut
Miriakamba Hut → Saddle Hut
After breakfast, the trek continues from Miriakamba Hut to the Saddle Hut, gaining altitude from 2,600 meters to 3,570 meters over a distance of about 10 kilometers, taking 5–7 hours. You will always walk arround with your professional safari guide and ranger. The trail now moves through heath and moorland vegetation. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning vistas of the crater rim and inner slopes of Mount Meru. Upon arrival at Saddle Hut, you’ll reach at viewpoints and visit little meru.
Saddle Hut
Summit Day → Miriakamba Hut
Summit day begins around 2:30–3:00 am to reach the peak. You will ascend from Saddle Hut (3,570 meters) to the summit at 4,566 meters, covering a round-trip distance of about 14 kilometers. At the summit, you will witness Kilimanjaro, the Ngorongoro Highlands, and the crater rim of Meru. The peak is marked by volcanic ash, lava formations, and sweeping panoramic views. After the summit, you descend first to Saddle Hut, then continue down to Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight stay.

Miriakamba Hut to Momela Gate.
On the final day, you descend from Miriakamba Hut (2,600 meters) to Momella Gate (1,440 meters) over a distance of approximately 8 kilometers, which usually takes 3–4 hours. The trail winds gently through forests and open areas, offering the chance to spot wildlife and enjoy the natural beauty one last time. Upon reaching Momella Gate, you conclude your Mount Meru adventure.
