Arrival in Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) which caters for domestic flights, you will be met by an African Big Cats Safaris representative who will drive you to your accommodation in Arusha. Your overnight stay will be at Gran Melia situated at the foothills of Mount Meru in the city of Arusha.

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, we depart for Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River, the main water source during the dry season. The park is known for acacia woodlands, dense vegetation, and large elephant families by the river. You may also see giraffe, bushbuck, hartebeest, and predators like lions and leopards. After lunch and a game drive, we head to your tented Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing. You’ll likely see large troops of baboons first. The park lies between Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley and is known for diverse landscapes and wildlife, including elephants, tree-climbing lions, hippos, flamingos, and over 400 bird species. A picnic lunch is served before heading to the Ngorongoro Highlands for dinner and overnight at Kitela Lodge.

After breakfast, you will be picked up by your private safari guide from your lodge and drive back to Arusha for last minute shopping and re-packing and lunch. Transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home or a flight to Zanzibar.
