Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls

Murchison Falls

Early morning, you will embark on this long day trip to Murchison Fall national park. You will visit the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary en route for white Rhino tracking as you head to Masindi town for lunch . Proceed to Murchison falls park where you will be welcomed by baboons, warthogs & other primates playing freely amidst the road. Upon reaching the park, you will proceed to your place of residence for check in, dinner & relaxation and at night you might have a chance to view the nocturnal animals.

Day 2 Morning Game Drive & a Boat

Murchison Falls

Early in the morning you will go for a morning game drive where you will have a chance to spot early risers and nocturnal species before they return to their hideouts. In the afternoon, go for a boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls. Lots of birds can be spotted and numerous animals resting and drinking water along the banks of the Nile. The most common ones being hippos, buffaloes, Nile crocodiles and birds include, the African fish eagle, Yellow billed stork, Egrets, Malachite kingfisher.

Day 3 : Transfer to Kibale Park

Kibale

After early breakfast, drive to Fort portal with lunch en route. You will drive through traditional homesteads and farms and this will enable you enjoy the beautiful scenery across that part of the country through the Oil City of Hoima. Arrive in the evening, have a rest while sipping some juice and wine. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel.

Day 4 : Chimpanzee trekking

Kibale

After breakfast, go for chimpanzee tracking in the forest with the highest concentration of primates in Uganda. This park has also got wild mammals like Elephants, forest Buffalos, Bush pigs, Hyenas, Antelopes, and Leopards. In the afternoon, you will drive south to the historical caves, locally dubbed “Amabere Ganyinamwiru” – literally meaning the “breasts of Nyinamwiru”. The caves have a rich legendary history; you will enjoy this story as a local guide narrates how it came into existence.

Day 5 : Transfer to Q. Elizabeth NP

After breakfast, you will embark on your journey towards the south western part of the country to explore the famous queen Elizabeth NP. The park also boasts of being a shelter to Uganda’s BIG FOUR mammals (Buffalo, Leopard, Lion, and Elephant), and in the evening have a community experience along the shores of Lake George to explore the natives ways of life, canoe experience, etc. Retire in the evening, and have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 6 : Game drive & Boat cruise

After breakfast, embark on the drive across the rolling Savannah range lands of Queen Elizabeth NP. The stretch to the Kasenyi plains, this offers you an opportunity to encounter numerous wild animals including elephants, buffaloes, water bucks and Kobs, lions, leopards. Return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch before proceeding for a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga also attracts a tremendous variety of bird species including the African Eagle and Open-Billed Stork

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi, Ishasha

After breakfast, embark on the trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in south western part of Uganda. You undertake a game drive en route in Ishasha sector in search of the tree climbing lions. This section of the park is well endowed with the infamous climbing lions together with other wild animals that dwell in this woodland part of the park. After this encounter, proceed on the drive to Bwindi arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 8 : Gorilla trekking in Bwindi

Bwindi Impenetrable

After an early breakfast, you will take a packed lunch, have a briefing by the game guides at the park headquarters and start your gorilla trail. Hiking through the thick, verdant, rainforest to eventually come across the gorillas in their natural habitat. This encounter takes between 2 to 9 hours and is the highlight of an Africa exploration safari. You will only have 1 hour of close contact with them. You are free to shoot as many photos as you desire before retreat.

Day 9 : Transfer to Lake Mburo Park

After an early breakfast , drive to Lake Mburo National Park, arrive in the afternoon, have your lunch and later at 2:30pm go for a boat ride on the lake. The lake is rich with a diversity of animal and plant species which will be viewed clearly as you are on the boat trip. Hippos and birds like African Fin foot, Pelicans, Black crake, Heron, cormorant, fish eagle, and the rare Shoebill Stork and all these will furnish your visit with pride. Dinner and overnight stay at Mihingo Lodge.

Day 10 : Travel to Entebbe

After breakfast, embark on the journey back to Kampala, traversing the impressive plain lands in the countryside of south western Uganda before getting to Igongo Cultural Center 12km past Mbarara town for a traditional sumptuous lunch. The animals that can be encountered along the way include; Impala antelope which only exists in this small but rich national park. You will make a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe for the last photo session as you leave Uganda for memories.
