Arrival in Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the chance to unwind and get ready for the adventure ahead. Arusha is a lively gateway to northern Tanzania’s safari circuit, and most travelers pass through this vibrant town as they begin their journey. It’s an important hub of safari life and a great place to ease into the experience.

After breakfast, your safari guide will collect you from your accommodation and you’ll travel to Tarangire National Park, a scenic drive of about two and a half hours. The park is named after the Tarangire River, the region’s main water source during the dry season, attracting large elephant herds and other wildlife such as giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, along with predators like lions and leopards. Lunch is enjoyed at a picnic site before continuing to Karatu.

After breakfast, you’ll drive into the cooler highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a stop to admire the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. You’ll then continue through the conservation area and enter the Serengeti from the south. Known for its vast grasslands and incredible wildlife, the Serengeti is especially famous for the Great Migration. Your accommodation for the next three nights is flexible, depending on the season and the migration’s location.

This day is dedicated to game drives in the Serengeti, home to an incredible variety of wildlife including impalas, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos. Depending on the location of the Great Migration, you may travel beyond the central region to witness this extraordinary natural spectacle.

Enjoy your final sunrise in the Serengeti before travelling toward Ngorongoro Crater, with wildlife sightings along the way. Hidden by steep volcanic walls, the crater is a pristine wilderness of grasslands, forests, lakes, and swamps, formed millions of years ago. Descending to the crater floor reveals dense wildlife, including wildebeest, zebra, abundant birdlife, and the rare black rhino. After exploring, you’ll continue to your accommodation in Karatu.

This morning, you’ll travel to Lake Manyara National Park, the final stop on your safari. Though compact, the park is remarkably diverse, set beneath the dramatic Great Rift Escarpment. Its shallow salt lake attracts thousands of birds, including flamingos, while forests are home to baboons, elephants, and the famous tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch before your final game drive, then transfer to Arusha or the airport of your choice.
