Kruger Park Bush Safari

Craig meets you at Letaba Rest Camp… and you set off in the open game viewing vehicle for a half-day safari! Craig likes to follow the back roads and less-travelled routes, seeking out the quiet places for spectacular game viewing, and providing you with sightings and experiences to cherish for the rest of your life. We get an early night so we are fresh for the early start the next morning… when we head to the beautiful Mozambique coast.

An early morning safari en route to the border post, we wind our way through Mozambique, heading for Xai Xai, which lies 330 km from the border post. It is an amazing experience to be driven through this colourful, vibrant, and very beautiful country. You stay in a 3-bedroom Casa with en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, and a private swimming pool. The houses are each free-standing, nestled in the dense coastal bush and are only a stone’s throw from the beach.

You can swim in the Indian Ocean, walk the golden beach, stroll around the little town with its markets, shops, restaurants and bars. You can go snorkeling along the coral reef just off the shore that protects the beach from erosion. If you are feeling adventurous, you can go scuba diving. Or you can totally chill, enjoying the beautiful sea, sand and sunshine… along with some wonderful Mozambique food, music and culture!

You can make it another delightful beach day... swimming in the warm Indian Ocean… building sandcastles… walking the golden sands looking at lovely sea shells. You can also explore the little town some more… it is a wonderful cultural experience to explore the heart of Xai Xai. The restaurants and cafes are all a culinary delight, and there is something to suit every taste. The local seafood and traditional dishes are absolutely delicious!

After breakfast and a last dip in the gloriously warm Indian Ocean, we bid farewell to Xai Xai and begin to wend our way back to Letaba. As on the drive down, the trip is full of amazing landscapes and experiences, and fantastic photo opportunities as we pass through the stunning Mozambique wilderness, and back across the border into the Kruger Park. Once back in the park, we meander slowly through the bushveld on a relaxing game drive. We end the day back at Letaba Rest Camp.

Your last morning in the African bush, looking for animals. After your morning bush coffee and breakfast, you head back to Hoedspruit airport or Phalaborwa gate.
