Moshi – Marangu Gate (1,860m) – Mandara Hut (2,720m) Morning transfer from Moshi to Marangu Gate for registration. Trek begins through dense montane rainforest, with sightings of blue monkeys and exotic plants. Gradual ascent on a well-maintained trail. Hot dinner and overnight in Mandara communal huts. Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut
Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut (3,720m) Trail opens into heath and moorland, with views of Mawenzi Peak. Picnic lunch en route. Afternoon arrival at Horombo Hut village—wide views of Kibo and Mawenzi. Evening briefing on acclimatization and hydration. Hiking Time: 5–7 hours Distance: ~12 km Elevation Gain: +1,000m Vegetation Zone: Moorland

Kibo Hut to Horombo Hut
Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Horombo Hut (3,720m) Midnight departure via Gilman’s Point (5,685m) on the crater rim. Final push to Uhuru Peak – the Roof of Africa. Celebrate photographs at sunrise over glaciers. Long descent to Kibo Hut for brunch, then continue down to Horombo Hut for overnight. Total Hiking Time: 12–16 hours Distance: ~21 km Elevation Gain/Loss: +1,192m / -2,175m Vegetation Zones: Arctic → Alpine Desert → Moorland
Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate
