Safari summary
Overview
This 2-day private cultural and wildlife safari is designed for travelers who wish to explore both Tanzania’s natural beauty and its rich cultural heritage within a short time. It combines the thrill of a classic game drive in Tarangire National Park with the unique experience of meeting the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes at Lake Eyasi.
Your adventure begins in Tarangire National Park, often called the “home of elephants.” The park is famous for its ancient baobab trees and large herds of elephants that roam across its sweeping landscapes. Along with elephants, you will encounter lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a wide variety of bird species. A picnic lunch inside the park completes your safari experience, giving you a chance to pause and enjoy the wilderness.
The journey continues on the second day to Lake Eyasi, a serene and less-visited part of northern Tanzania. Here, you will step into the world of the Hadzabe bushmen, one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa, and join them in their traditional hunting and gathering activities. You will also meet the Datoga people, skilled blacksmiths who create tools and jewelry using age-old methods. With the calm waters of Lake Eyasi and the colorful birdlife around you, this day offers a perfect cultural and scenic ending before heading back to Arusha.
This private safari is short yet deeply rewarding, giving you two days filled with wildlife adventure and meaningful cultural encounters at your own pace.
