After breakfast, join a briefing before chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest, home to our closest relatives and many other primates like red-tailed, L’Hoest’s, and black-and-white colobus monkeys. The forest also hosts bush babies, colorful birds such as the green-breasted pitta and crowned eagle, plus occasional forest elephants. After this memorable trek, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you’ll enjoy an exciting afternoon game drive across the savannah.

Begin your day with an early breakfast, then proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules. Guided by experienced rangers, you’ll trek through the dense rainforest searching for a gorilla family. The hike may last 2 to 7 hours depending on their location, so good fitness is recommended. Weather can change quickly, so carry boots and a raincoat. Porters are available for a small fee. After the trek, enjoy lunch at the lodge or in the forest.
