Arrival in Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or your hotel in Moshi. Your guide will welcome you, provide a detailed briefing about the upcoming trek, and help with gear checks. Use this day to rest and prepare mentally and physically for the climb ahead.

Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

After an early breakfast, drive about 1 hour to Marangu Gate (1,860m), the starting point of your trek. You’ll register with park officials and begin your hike through the thick tropical rainforest. The trail is scenic and shaded, with chances to spot monkeys and colorful birds. After around 4-5 hours of walking, you’ll reach Mandara Hut (2,700m) where you’ll spend your first night on the mountain.

Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

This day’s hike climbs steadily through the moorland zone filled with giant heathers and unique plants. The landscape changes dramatically from the forest to open grasslands. The hike is about 5-6 hours, ending at Horombo Hut (3,720m), a larger hut that serves as a main base for acclimatization. You’ll have time to rest and enjoy the fresh mountain air.

Today, you leave the moorland behind and enter the alpine desert zone. The trail becomes rockier and more challenging as you climb to Kibo Hut (4,700m) in about 5 hours. Here you’ll rest and prepare for the final summit push, getting an early night to conserve energy.

This is the most demanding day. You start very early (around midnight) to hike to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The climb takes 6–8 hours round trip. At the top, you’ll njoy breathtaking sunrise views over the African plains, truly a once-in-a-lifetime moment. After celebrating, descend back to Horombo Hut for rest and recovery.

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate-Moshi

You’ll Walk down through moorland and rainforest, retracing your steps for about 4-5 hours until you reach Marangu Gate. From here, transfer back to your hotel in Moshi. You’ll enjoy a well-deserved rest, delicious meals, and comfortable accommodation

Serval Wildlife &Moshi Exploitation

You’ll spend the morning on a special wildlife visit focused on the serval cat, a graceful and rare wild cat species native to Africa. You’ll have a chance to see these beautiful animals up close in a safe, ethical environment, learning about their behavior and conservation. In the afternoon, you will explore Moshi town by visit local markets, artisan shops, or enjoy a coffee farm tour.

On your final full day, you can relax or visit nearby attractions such as Materuni Waterfalls or Chemka Hot Springs. You will enjoy the peaceful nature and local culture before transferring to Kilimanjaro Airport or your next destination.
