Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

Samburu

You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or airport by our driver. Immediately, you'll depart for Samburu passing through the equator line to Samburu land. You'll arrive with a short game drive en route to the lodge/camp for lunch. After lunch, you'll relax before a game drive at 4 pm. Samburu National Reserve has unique residents including the Reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, and the blue-legged Somali ostrich.

You'll enjoy morning game drives in search of unique northern Kenya species such as the reticulated giraffe, beisa oryx, Grevy’s zebra, and the long-necked gerenuk. Much of the reserve consists of desert landscape; dusty red plains broken by thorny scrub, featuring dramatic views of table top Mt Ol Olokwe on the horizon. Later in the afternoon, you'll experience the Samburu Culture by visiting their Manyattas.

You'll depart Samburu after breakfast arriving in time for lunch at Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This is a beautiful private game reserve and home to rare species such as Beisa oryx, Rothschild’s giraffe, chimpanzee, and black rhino. Game drives here reveal the full range of African wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and hippos. You'll enjoy a private visit with the tamed animals at the wildlife orphanage. You'll observe chimps at the Chimpanzee Sanctuary as well.

Ol Pejeta to Lake Nakuru N Park

After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park in the Great Rift Valley, arriving before lunch. You'll have time to relax and enjoy views of the lake. This beautiful park offers diverse habitats, from the lake to surrounding ridges. It's a haven for bird-watching and offers excellent game drives to see a wide range of animals.

Masai Mara

Travel through the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara, a natural paradise where you'll spend two nights. Arrive at your camp for a late lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. The next two days will be spent on private game drives with your driver-guide, searching for the Big Five and other abundant wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard.

Enjoy a full-day game drive in the Maasai Mara, renowned for its spectacular wildebeest migration (July-Oct) and being one of the Seven Wonders of the World. You'll have a picnic lunch at the Mara River and a chance to spot the Big Five and a variety of other wildlife, including lions, leopards, and elephants. Later, visit a Maasai village to learn about their unique culture and way of life.

After breakfast, you'll depart Masai Mara National Reserve with a wildlife viewing en route to the main Narok road. At Narok, you will have a chance for last-minute shopping, or lunch (at your own cost). You'll continue to Nairobi where we'll drop you at your hotel, your residence, or the airport.
