Kidepo Valley

We return to Kidepo, not for wildlife, but for the power of tradition. East Africa’s largest traditional village, where heritage lives in every homestead. Walking among daily life, we hear tribal voices echo through the wilderness—ancient and proud. The community preserves practices like scarification, each mark telling a story. Our visit starts with a climb to a nearby rock for an aerial view, then a guided walk into a homestead to explore the customs and diversity of Karamoja’s tribes.

We conclude our journey in Kampala, shaped by its colonial past. The towering Namirembe and Rubaga Cathedrals reflect missionary efforts that symbolized faith and foreign influence.
