Itinerary
Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater
You'll travel through scenic landscapes and the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's largest unbroken caldera. Enjoy an extensive game drive on the crater floor, where you can spot a high concentration of wildlife, including the "Big Five". Have a picnic lunch near a hippo pool. Ascend the crater and drive to your accommodation, often located on the crater rim, for dinner and overnight stay.
Ngorongoro to Central Serengeti
Serengeti
Morning: After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park. The journey offers "en-route" game viewing opportunities as you travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enter the Serengeti via the Naabi Hill Gate and enjoy your first game drive on the vast, endless plains. Afternoon: enjoy a packed lunch in a designated spot within the Park. Evening: Arrive at your camp or lodge in the Serengeti for dinner and overnight stay.
Full day game drive in Serengeti
Serengeti
Morning: Wake up early for a sunrise game drive. This is the best time to see predators in action. Afternoon: Continue your game drive, exploring various habitats such as grasslands, kopjes (rocky outcrops), and riverine forests. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site. Evening: Return to your accommodation in the Serengeti to relax, have dinner, and spend another night under the stars.
Mto wa Mbu and Departure
Morning: Enjoy a final breakfast in the Serengeti before beginning your drive toward Mto wa Mbu. Arrive in the vibrant village of Mto wa Mbu. This is where your cultural tour begins. Activities include a guided walk through local farms and banana plantations, visiting a local market, seeing traditional artisans, such as Makonde woodcarvers, sampling local food, and perhaps even the traditional banana beer. After your cultural tour, you will be driven back to Arusha to conclude your safari.
