You will be picked up from the airport by our African Delight Safar representative and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha where you will stay overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come. You will have time to explore the City of Arusha and other places nearby.

Morning pick-up from Arusha by your safari guide. Drive to Tarangire National Park across Maasai plains, observing locals. Tarangire is renowned for huge elephant herds and diverse wildlife. From your open-roof jeep, explore swamps, savanna, and the Tarangire River, encountering elephants, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, giraffes, and possibly lions or leopards. After extensive game driving, depart for a mid-range lodge; dinner and comfortable overnight await.

Descend steep track into 600m deep caldera, spotting animals, grasslands, birds, and a lake. This massive collapsed volcano shelters over 25,000 mammals (Big Five, hyenas) and 500+ bird species. After extensive game drive and picnic lunch in crater, head to Mto Wa Mbu hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This small, diverse park (120km west of Arusha) features a shallow, salt lake. Explore diverse landscapes – plains, woodlands, baobab cliffs – spotting monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants, and lucky tree-climbing lions. After lunch, return to Arusha for your late evening flight to Zanzibar.

Post-breakfast, your guide picks you up for a traditional dhow ride to Prison Island. Learn its name's origin, explore home to over 50 tortoises (some centenarian).
