On Day 6, you'll make a pre-dawn push to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point on the African continent, arriving in time for a stunning sunrise over the glaciers and plains below.
After celebrating your summit achievement, you’ll descend to Millennium Camp for a well-earned rest, then continue the final descent to Mweka Gate on Day 7, where climbers receive official Kilimanjaro summit certificates.

UMBWE GATE TO UMBWE CAVE CAMP

Kilimanjaro

After breakfast in Moshi, you will be transferred to the Umbwe Gate to begin your trek up the mountain. From there, you will hike through dense rainforest to the Umbwe Cave Camp, where you will spend the night. The campsite is situated at an elevation of 2,940 meters above sea level.

UMBWE CAVE CAMP TO BARRANCO CAMP

On day two, you will continue along the Umbwe Route to Barranco Camp. Along the way, you will encounter stunning views of the Southern Icefields and the Western Breach. You will spend the night at Barranco Camp, which is located at an altitude of 3,950 meters above sea level.

After breakfast, you will ascend the Great Barranco Wall and continue on to the Karanga Campsite, where you will spend the night. This campsite is situated at an elevation of 3,995 meters above sea level and provides spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.

On day four, you will hike from Karanga Camp to Kosovo Camp, which is located at an altitude of 4,800 meters above sea level. This campsite provides stunning views of the Kibo Massif and the surrounding glaciers. You will spend the night here, preparing for the summit ascent.

Day five is a rest day at Kosovo Camp. You will spend the day acclimatizing to the high altitude and preparing for the summit ascent. You can take a short hike to the base of the Arrow Glacier or relax at the campsite and enjoy the views.

KOSOVO CAMP TO UHURU PEAK TO MWEKA

Early in the morning, you will begin your ascent to the summit of Kilimanjaro, Uhuru Peak, which is located at an elevation of 5,895 meters above sea level. After reaching the summit, you will begin your descent to the Mweka Campsite, which is situated at an altitude of 3,100 meters above sea level. You will spend the night here.

MWEKA CAMP

MWEKA CAMP TO MWEKA GATE

Kilimanjaro

On the final day of your trek, you will descend from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate, where you will sign out with the park authorities and receive your summit certificates. After that, you will be transferred back to Moshi, where you can celebrate your achievement and rest after the climb.
