This 3 night, 4 day safari follows the Zambezi River through the Mana Pools National Park. Canoeing offers guests a unique way of viewing game, you can glide up to elephants crossing the Zambezi and watch game coming down to the Rive to drink. Canoeing begins near the confluence of the Ruckomechi River and Zambezi River and continues along the Mana Pools shoreline to Ilala Camp across from Chikwenya Island in the Mana Pools ‘Wilderness Area.’

Spot wildlife like elephants, hippos, and birds along the way. Arrive at Vundu Camp at sunset for sundowners, a campfire, and a delicious dinner under the stars—your safari has officially begun.

Start early with coffee and muffins by the fire, then paddle out at sunrise to drift through the awakening Zambezi. After breakfast under acacias, enjoy a guided walk with chances to spot wildlife. Later, canoe alongside massive elephant bulls before stopping for a shaded lunch under mahogany trees. The day ends with a gentle paddle to Chessa Camp, where buffalo and elephants roam the plains and a peaceful night awaits.

Begin with a sunrise paddle into Mana Pools’ Wilderness Area—remote, wild, and full of life. Breakfast is on the Mbera floodplain, home to predators and elephants. Paddle quiet, bird-filled channels before enjoying lunch at a sandbank table set in the river. In the afternoon, explore Chikwenya Island on foot, then paddle into Ilala Camp by sunset. The day ends at Odyssey Camp, with stars above and hippos nearby—an unforgettable close to your journey.

Depending on departure time, guests may enjoy a final early morning walk or a relaxing lie-in. After breakfast, a short game drive takes you to the airstrip or Nyamepi Camp for farewells.
