Once your visa is processed, you’ll be assisted through customs and introduced to your guide. After meeting your guide, transfer to your hotel in a comfortable safari vehicle. Today, trek through the rainforest to observe endangered mountain gorillas in the Virunga Volcanoes. The hike can be short or last up to 7 hours, depending on the gorilla family’s location. Once found, enjoy an unforgettable hour with them. In the afternoon, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about ongoing research and conservation efforts. This inspiring center supports both gorilla protection and local communities through education and science.

Return to the lodge for lunch, then enjoy optional activities: a community walk to nearby villages, sightseeing at Twin Lakes, a basket weaving workshop, canoeing on gentle rivers, or relaxing with a massage or manicure in serene surroundings.

Iby’Iwachu Cultural Village Tour

After breakfast, visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, a community project empowering locals to conserve nature and preserve traditions. Enjoy a 3-hour masterclass at Question Coffee, learning about Rwanda’s specialty coffee—from growing to tasting—and take home a branded coffee bag.
