Day 1

Mount Kenya

Naro Moru -Sirimon-Judmaier Camp Depart Nairobi at 0800hrs and drive to Mount Kenya region - 3 hours drive to Naro Moru town. Arrive by 1100hrs where you start sorting personal equipment for the mountain trek. Thereafter drive to Sirimon Park gate(with packed lunch) where you sign in and start a 3 hours hike(easy trek to help with acclimatisation) through the equatorial forest to the camp (3,300m). Trekking time 8 hours and distance 9 kms. Rating - medium.

Day 2

Mount Kenya

Judmaier Camp - Sirimon Valley camp After breakfast trek up the moorland and break away from Sirimon track to the plains of Sirimon valley where you encounter wildlife grazing on the moorland - zebras, waterbucks, Thompson's Gazelles, etc. Proceed contouring into the Sirimon Valley to the campsite. This is a seldom-visited area with a tremendous amount of wildlife. Trekking time 5-6 hours, a distance of 8 km, rating medium, altitude 3,940m.

Day 3

Sirimon Valley - Hall Tarns An early start out of the Sirimon Valley and into the head of the Hinde Valley. We then cross the Nithi and Gorges Valleys. This is undoubtedly one of the most scenic areas of the mountain with its longest vertical cliffs, its virgin valleys and cascading waterfall, making it the most trekked area in Kenya. Trekking time 5-6 hours, a distance of 9 km, rated medium and altitude will be 4,300m.

Day 4

Mount Kenya

Exploring Day Descend to Lake Michaelson, in the depth of the Gorges Valley. See incredible cave formations known as the Temple. Walk down the valley to Vivienne Falls(named after the famous author of Speak to the Earth). Return to camp in the afternoon. Trekking time 6 hours, a distance of 7 kms, rated medium and overnight at altitude 4,300m.

Day 5

Mount Kenya

Hall Tarns - Pt Lenana - Met Station Start at 0300hrs from the Mintos Camp and attempt the third-highest peak - Pt Lenana 4895m to be at the top of the summit by sunrise for a good view of the main peaks of the mountain. On a clear day, you can see Uhuru Peak of Mount Kilimanjaro - a few minutes for celebration and photos. Descend down on the Westside of the mountain through the Austrian Hut, down to Mackinder Hut for breakfast and rest. Afternoon hike for 05 hours through moorland-14hrs

Met Station (3030m), high-altitude tentsm 18kms

Day 6

Met Station - Naro Moru Park Gate - Nairobi After breakfast, begin a nice walk through the forest to Naro Moru park gate where you find your vehicle waiting for to transfer you back to Nairobi or your next destination. Trekking time 3 hours, a distance of 9 km, rate medium and altitude at Naro Moru of 1,950m. NB: Other routes similar in length or shorter and rock climbing on request
