Arrival day from Arusha

Check in at Lushoto Eco Home and take an optional hike to Irente View Point. Arrive and check in at Lushoto Eco Home. Relax for some minutes and then meet our guide for a briefing and hike to Irente viewpoint for sunset, approximately a loop distance of 15 km. Drive or walk back to Lushoto for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Trek toward Mazumbai

After Breakfast, start trek toward Mazumbai, which is located in the southeast and faces east of the West Usambaras. The trek passes through villages and agricultural land, stopping at the villages of Kwadoe and Hehangala along the way, where you can view individual tea growers and the Herkulu Organic tea estate. Picnic lunch at the top of Vuluni village, where you experience the daily life of the Wasambaa with an excellent view of Bumbuli and the East Usambara mountains.

After breakfast, begin your walk towards Mazumbai, passing through Mbokoi village at the ridge's summit. This offers stunning views and a chance to interact with the local community. As you enter the rainforest, you'll have ample opportunities for birdwatching and observing black and white Colobus monkeys, making it an exceptional spot for nature enthusiasts. in the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay

Trek from Mazumbai to Bumbuli

5-6 hrs Trek from Mazumbai to Bumbuli via villages, along a nice view over the Lwengera Valley, and via another way, round back to Bumbuli. Have lunch somewhere in Bumbuli and then take a private car back to Lushoto and overnight at Lushoto Eco Home

Pick the bus to Dar es Salaam or Arusha After breakfast in the morning, you will be transferred to the bus stand in Lushoto town, take the public bus to Arusha or Dar es Salaam to continue with your schedule, or you can opt to do a safari with us.
