Itinerary
Arrival and Welcome in Arusha
Arrival time at Kilimanjaro Airport, your Eyes On Serengeti driver-guide will be waiting for you with a warm, welcoming smile. Kick back and relax in your comfortable vehicle as he takes you to your hotel in Arusha, Tanzania’s self-styled ‘safari capital.’ On your journey to the hotel, you will get a brief impression of this large, bustling, commercial city. Depending on your arrival time, you may have your pre-safari briefing today. If not, it will take place early tomorrow morning.
Kahawa House
In the heart of Tarangire National
From Arusha, proceed to Tarangire National Park for our game drive. It is one of the largest national parks in Tanzania and is located in the Manyara region. The park is characterized by the large herds of elephants, tree-climbing lions, and the fascinating baobab trees (also called the "tree of life" for the almost mythical powers that some cultures attach to it) Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Lake Burunge Tented Lodge
Conquering the Plains of Serengeti
The lush plains of the Serengeti have made it an ideal home to wildlife for millions of years. This ancient ecosystem continues to thrive, and wildebeests, zebras, gazelles and giraffes are often seen grazing in herds. This is one of the best places in the world to spot lions dozing in the shade, leaping after a marked prey or gnawing of a share of their hunt. We then depart from Tarangire and drive to Central Serengeti via Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Intimate Seronera Camp
Full day game drive
After your breakfast at the camp, we’ll drive to Seronera for a full day game drive at the central part of Serengeti still viewing the great migration. The park is well known for its healthy stock of other resident wildlife, particularly the big five named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters: Lion. Late in the afternoon, we’ll drive back to the camp for your dinner and overnight.
Intimate Seronera Camp
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highland
This morning you will have time to further explore the Serengeti and perhaps visit Simba Kopjes, an outcrop of rocks favored by lion and cheetah, who can often be seen basking in the morning sun. You will spend your time doing en-route game viewing whereby you will be passing through Olduvai Gorge and will stop for a picnic lunch while viewing the archaeological sites (and visit the museum) where early human tools and fossils have been found. Continue driving across the Ngorongoro
Tloma Lodge
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After breakfast, descend into the crater for a crater game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. About 2 million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19 km wide, Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo filled swamps and open grasslands.Later drive back to Arusha then transfer to Kilimanjaro for your flight back home
