Enjoying intimate game drives in Tarangire National Park is your destination for a full-day adventure filled with captivating wildlife species accompanied with large herds of elephants and ancient baobab trees that dot the landscape. The Ndutu area is a prime location where you can spot the Great Migration from late November towards February. Herds of wildebeest and other antelopes moving through central Seronera to south Serengeti Ndutu plains for calving season in late November and December to February. Ngorongoro Crater is home to abundant wildlife residing on its floors, including the ‘Big Five’, which offers an immersive experience to travellers.

On your arrival at Kilimanjaro International/Arusha Airport, you will meet our Matrix Safaris representative (driver guide), who greets you and drives you to your hotel in Arusha, depending on your arrival time, where you will have time to relax, spend the night, and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime!

After breakfast at your hotel, our guide will pick you up and take you to Tarangire National Park. This park, known for its open grasslands, acacia trees, and the Tarangire River, is home to a range of wildlife, especially during the dry season when thousands of animals migrate for water. After lunch at your camp, enjoy an afternoon game drive to spot elephants, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, giraffes, lions, and various bird species. Then, drive to your lodge in Karatu for the night.

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a full-day game drive following the Serengeti wildebeest migration at Ndutu. On this day, you’ll start your game drive early and descend over 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO Heritage Site. This unique location offers an incredible morning of wildlife viewing, with a high chance to spot the Big Five (lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffalo), along with gazelles, zebras, and hyenas. After lunch at the Hippo Pool, you’ll ascend from the crater and depart to Arusha for your flight out. This marks the end of your safari.
