Itinerary
Arrival in Nyerere
Nyerere (Selous)
our Nyerere adventure begins with an early morning departure from Dar es Salaam, either via a scenic 5-6 hour road trip or a quick 30-45 minute flight to the park; upon arrival at your lodge or camp, you'll settle in and after lunch, embark on your first exciting game drive, exploring the diverse landscapes and seeking out the park's abundant wildlife, including elephants, lions, and possibly the elusive wild dogs, before returning for dinner and your first night in the bush.
Exploring Nyerere by Land and Water
Today is dedicated to experiencing Nyerere's diverse safari offerings, starting with an early morning game drive to maximize wildlife sightings in different areas of the park; the afternoon brings a unique perspective with a boat safari along the Rufiji River, providing excellent opportunities to observe hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds, and other animals congregating near the water's edge, followed by an evening return to your accommodation to relax and recount the day's adventures.
Walking Safari and optional Cultur
This morning offers a more intimate encounter with the wilderness through an early walking safari led by an armed ranger, allowing you to appreciate the smaller details of the ecosystem and track animals on foot; after returning for a break and lunch, the afternoon presents an optional opportunity for cultural interaction with a local village or another game drive, providing further chances to explore the park's rich biodiversity before enjoying a final dinner under the African sky.
Farewell Game Drive and Departure
Following a final breakfast, you'll have a last opportunity for a short game drive as you make your way towards your departure point, either the airstrip for your flight back to Dar es Salaam or the park gate for your road journey; the morning activity allows for a final glimpse of Nyerere's wildlife before you begin your journey back to the city, concluding your memorable 4-day safari experience.
