The magic of Mikumi and Ruaha

Mikumi

Your adventure begins with an early morning flight from Dar es Salaam, southwest to Mikumi National Park, one of Tanzania's easily accessible wildlife havens; upon arrival, you'll check into your chosen lodge or camp and enjoy lunch before heading out for your first exciting afternoon game drive, exploring the vast Mkata Floodplain where you'll encounter a variety of wildlife, including elephants, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, and various antelopes, often congregating near water sources.

Ruaha

After a hearty breakfast, you'll bid farewell to Mikumi and embark on a longer but equally picturesque journey (approximately 5-6 hours) to Ruaha National Park, Tanzania's largest national park and a true wilderness gem; upon reaching your accommodation within the park, you'll check in and have lunch, and depending on your arrival time, there may be an opportunity for a brief introductory game drive to begin experiencing Ruaha's unique landscapes and wildlife.

Today offers further exploration of Ruaha's untamed beauty, with continued game drives to discover new areas and revisit those with recent wildlife sightings, allowing for deeper engagement with the park's diverse ecosystems. Optional activities such as guided walking safaris with armed rangers provide an intimate perspective on the bush, or thrilling night game drives offer a chance to witness the park's nocturnal inhabitants (both optional activities are at an extra cost).
