Itinerary

Arrival in Tanzania

Kilimanjaro

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). You will be met by our representative and transferred to your comfortable hotel in Moshi. Afternoon: Attend a pre-climb briefing with your guide. They will check your gear, provide essential information about the climb, discuss safety procedures, and answer any last-minute questions. Evening: Enjoy a welcome dinner at your hotel. Accommodation: Hotel in Moshi. Meals: Dinner.

Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Cam

Kilimanjaro

After breakfast, drive from your hotel to Londorossi Gate. Complete park registration formalities and meet your full trekking team (guides, porters, cooks). Trek: Begin your trek through the dense, lush rainforest. The path is often muddy but offers a beautiful and relatively gentle start to the climb. Keep an eye out for wildlife, including colobus monkeys. Duration: 3-4 hours of trekking. Habitat: Montane Forest. Accommodation: Mti Mkubwa Camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Kilimanjaro

The trail continues through the rainforest, transitioning into the heath and moorland zone as you gain altitude. You'll start to get your first expansive views of the Shira Plateau and potentially Kibo Peak. Afternoon: Arrive at Shira 2 Camp, located on the vast Shira Plateau, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Duration: 6-8 hours of trekking. Habitat: Moorland. Accommodation: Shira 2 Camp (tents). Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp

Kilimanjaro

This is a crucial day for acclimatization. You will ascend significantly to Lava Tower before descending to a slightly lower elevation for the night. Trek: The landscape becomes more barren, resembling an alpine desert. You'll ascend steeply to Lava Tower for lunch, often feeling the effects of the altitude. After lunch, you'll descend into the magnificent Barranco Valley. Duration: 6-8 hours of trekking. Habitat: Semi-desert. Accommodation: Barranco Camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Kilimanjaro

Start the day by tackling the famous Barranco Wall. This section involves some scrambling, but it's not technical climbing and is very enjoyable with your guides' assistance. Trek: After conquering the wall, the path follows a series of ridges and valleys, with relatively short but steep ascents and descents, before arriving at Karanga Camp. Duration: 4-5 hours of trekking. Habitat: Alpine Desert. Accommodation: Karanga Camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Kilimanjaro

A challenging but rewarding day as you trek through the rugged alpine desert, ascending steadily towards Barafu Camp, your summit camp. The vegetation becomes very sparse, and the air noticeably thinner. Afternoon: Arrive at Barafu, ideally by early afternoon. This time is crucial for resting, rehydrating, and preparing your gear for the summit attempt later that night. Duration: 3-5 hours of trekking. Habitat: Alpine Desert. Accommodation: Barafu Camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Summit and Descent to Mweka Camp

Kilimanjaro

This is the longest and most demanding day of the entire climb. You'll wake up around midnight for a quick snack and begin your summit push in the dark, under the stars.Witness an unforgettable sunrise from the highest point in Africa, taking in the panoramic views and celebrating your incredible achievement. After photos and a short time at the summit. Habitat: Arctic, Alpine Desert, Moorland. Accommodation: Mweka Camp . Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Mweka Camp and Departure

Kilimanjaro

Enjoy your final breakfast on the mountain. Descent: Complete your descent through the beautiful and lush Montane Forest, following the well-maintained Mweka Route. This path is often muddy but offers a relatively easy walk after the previous day's exertions. Celebration: At Mweka Gate, you will receive your official summit certificates! Transfer back for departure.
