Gombe National Park

Upon arrival, you will be met by your local representative and transferred to Kibirizi Port. Board a private boat for a scenic transfer across Lake Tanganyika to Gombe National Park. The boat ride offers beautiful views of the lake and the forested shores. Arrive at Gombe National Park, check into your lodge located within the park. Enjoy dinner. Depending on arrival time and chimpanzee proximity, a brief introduction to the park and its resident chimpanzees might be given by a park ranger.

Trekking & Forest Exploration

After breakfast, embark on your primary activity: chimpanzee trekking! Accompanied by experienced park rangers and guides, you'll venture into the lush forest. The trek can be physically demanding as you navigate uneven terrain, but the reward of encountering these incredible primates in their natural habitat is immense.Continue exploring the forest. You might have the opportunity to visit Jane Goodall's original research site or hike to Kakombe Waterfall for a refreshing swim and bird watching.

Boat Safari on Lake Tanganyika

Enjoy a relaxing boat safari on the clear waters of Lake Tanganyika. This offers a different perspective of the park's coastline and the chance to spot various bird species, monitor lizards, and perhaps even hippos or crocodiles along the shore. You can also admire the stunning backdrop of the mountains on the Congolese side of the lake. Evening: Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Gombe National Park.

Gombe to Kigoma & Departure

Enjoy a final breakfast amidst the sounds of the forest. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for a short nature walk or some last-minute birdwatching around the lodge. Late Morning: Board your boat for the transfer back to Kigoma. Upon arrival in Kigoma, you will be transferred to Kigoma Airport (TKQ) for your domestic flight back to Dar es Salaam
