Safari summary

The Serengeti is globally renowned for the Great Migration, a spectacular annual movement of over two million wildebeest, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, in search of fresh grazing. This incredible event attracts numerous predators, making the Serengeti a prime location for witnessing dramatic wildlife interactions. The park boasts the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) and an abundance of other wildlife, including cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, various antelope species, and over 500 bird species.
The best time to visit the Serengeti is generally during the dry season (late June to October) when wildlife congregates around water sources, and the Great Migration river crossings typically occur. However, the calving season (January to February) in the southern Serengeti is also a fantastic time to witness thousands of newborn wildebeest and the predators that follow.
