Day 1: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
• Elevation: 1,800m (Marangu Gate) to 2,700m (Mandara Hut) • Distance: 8 km (5 miles) • Duration: 4-5 hours • Begin your trek at the Marangu Gate, passing through lush rainforest with plenty of wildlife and beautiful scenery. The hike is relatively easy and reaches Mandara Hut, where you'll stay overnight. Enjoy a warm dinner and rest in the cozy hut.

• Elevation: 2,700m (Mandara Hut) to 3,700m (Horombo Hut) • Distance: 12 km (7.5 miles) • Duration: 5-7 hours • The trek continues through the moorland zone, with great views of the surrounding area. As you reach Horombo Hut, you'll experience a more barren landscape. Take some time to relax and acclimatize as this is a higher altitude.

• Elevation: 3,700m (Horombo Hut) to 4,700m (Kibo Hut) • Distance: 10 km (6 miles) • Duration: 5-7 hours • The terrain changes to a semi-desert landscape as you approach Kibo Hut. This is a critical point to rest and prepare for your summit attempt the next day. Early to bed is essential since the next day’s climb will begin in the middle of the night.

• Elevation: 4,700m (Kibo Hut) to 5,895m (Uhuru Peak) • Distance: 6 km (3.7 miles) up, 27 km (16.8 miles) down • Duration: 10-14 hours • The summit day begins around midnight with a steep and challenging climb to Uhuru Peak. You’ll trek through the night in freezing temperatures, aiming to reach the summit by sunrise. After enjoying the stunning views and feeling the immense sense of accomplishment, you’ll begin the descent back to Horombo Hut, where you’ll rest for the night.

Day 5: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
• Elevation: 3,700m (Horombo Hut) to 1,800m (Marangu Gate) • Distance: 20 km (12.5 miles) • Duration: 5-7 hours • On the final day, you’ll descend back through the rainforest to Marangu Gate. The descent is easier on the body and allows you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings as you return to the starting point. Upon arrival at the gate, you'll receive your summit certificate to mark your accomplishment.
