Mount Meru, volcanic cone (14,978 feet [4,565 m]), northern Tanzania. It is situated 42 miles (68 km) west-southwest of Mount Kilimanjaro, near the Kenyan border. Its extinct crater is easily accessible from Arusha town, which lies at the mountain's southern base.

Mount Meru is a massive volcano. It’s the second-highest mountain in Tanzania and the fourth in Africa. And only about 32km (20 miles) from Arusha City to Momella Gate, where the trek begins. Climbing Mount Meru is the perfect fit for acclimatization before climbing Mount Kilimanjaro due to its altitude acclimatization and hiking distances. This trek is also for hikers who prefer fewer crowds and a less challenging ascent.

DAY 1 : ARUSHA TOWN-MOMELLA GATE-MIRIKAMBA HUT The first day of your safari will begin at 8:00 am in the morning Our Guide from Royal Tour Tanzania he will come to pick you up from your hotel at Arusha. And you will drive up to Momella Gate not more than 30 min, after a short registration at the Momella Gate, our walk will begin with a full-armed ranger escorting us on our hike.

DAY 2: MIRIKAMBA HUT-MOMELLA GATE- ARUSHA TOWN Wake up in the morning pack and take your breakfast, then be ready to starts your way to descend back to Momella gate. You will be using the southern route to descend. On our descent, we will pass through the montane forest, where we will pass by an attractive Fig Tree Arch. Upon arrival at the Momella gate, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel in Arusha.
