Moshi to Rongai Gate to Simba Camp

Day 1: Moshi/Arusha to Rongai Gate to Simba Camp Elevation: 1387 m to 2750 m Distance: 7 km | Hiking Time: 3-5 hours Begin with a drive through villages and coffee plantations to Rongai Gate. After registration, start your trek through fields of maize and potatoes, entering the forest rich with wildlife. Gentle climbing leads to Simba Camp, where the forest begins to thin, offering the first glimpses of the open landscapes.
Simba Camp to Kikelewa Camp
Elevation: 2750 m to 3600 m Distance: 11 km | Hiking Time: 6 hours | Habitat: Moorland Enjoy a steady ascent to the second cave, stopping for lunch. Leaving the main trail, traverse the moorland towards Mawenzi's side peak. Reach Kikelewa Camp, set in a tranquil valley, for dinner and overnight rest.

Kibo Huts camp to Uhuru Peak
Elevation: 4695 m to 5895 m to 3690 m Distance: 6 km up, 14 km down | Hiking Time: 10-15 hours | Habitat: Alpine Desert Begin your midnight summit attempt. Ascend steep scree to Gilman’s Point, and continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak. Experience a breathtaking sunrise at the summit. Descend to Kibo Huts for lunch and continue to Horombo Huts for dinner and overnight.
Horombo Huts Camp to Marangu Gate
Elevation: 3690 m to 1830 m to 1387 m Distance: 18 km | Descending Time: 5-7 hours After breakfast, descend through moorland to Mandara Huts for lunch, then through lush forests to Marangu Gate. Sign out and return to your hotel for celebrations and certificate presentation, marking the successful end of your Kilimanjaro adventure.
