Queen Elizabeth was named after the queen of England Queen Elizabeth 2 after she had visited the park in 1952.

The park is one of the best top wildlife safari destinations in Uganda. Its popular for its beautiful landscape that is made of lush savannah plains, a series of sparkling crater lakes, grassy hills and a nice view of the Rwenzori Mountain range in the far distance.

The park is famous for its tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, forested gorges that are home to Chimpanzees, savannah plains, Swamps, rivers and the beautiful Kazinga channel that’s home to a lot of Wildlife species. The park also has the highest number of species [around 606 recorded species] in Uganda.
