Itinerary

Day 2

Virunga | Volcanoes

Day 2: Kisoro - Lake Mutanda The trip will start after breakfast and it will take you through gentle sloping hills that will give you a clear view of the border between Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo in a distance. Upon arriving at Lake Mutanda, you will see Otters diving into the lake waters. You will also take a boat to enjoy canoeing to encounter different species of birds. The lake is also a perfect viewing spot of the Virunga Volcanoes.

Day 3

Mgahinga

Day 3: Lake Mutanda - Mgahinga This trip will take you from Lake Mutanda to Mgahinga gorilla national parlk for golden monkey tracking. The trip will take your through the jungles of Mgahinga GNP which consists of bamboo and a variety of indigenous plants like giant lobelia. During the trip, your guide will tell you about the history of the national park and the fauna and flora that the park holds. Overnight: Amajambere Iwacu Community Camp.

Day 4

Mgahinga

Day 4: Mgahinga - Kisoro After breakfast, you will have a walk in the villages around Mgahinga. The journey will take you through community farm lands where your local guide will share with you how the local people live and farm. The journey will end with a visit to the Batwa community who are an indigenous group that lives at the outskirts of Mgahinga National Park. Once you enter the Batwa village, you will get a chance to learn about their history, how they live, listen to their stories on how they used to hunt before they were evicted from the forest. Your visit will contribute to the Batwa welfare because we use the cost of the trip to support the Batwa children's education.

Day 5

Day 5: Kisoro - Bwindi You will leave for gorilla tracking very early in the morning. Upon reaching Bwindi national park, the gorilla trekking adventure will begin with a briefing by the national guide on how to handle yourself once you enter the home of the “endangered species”. The trip can take about 3 to 9 hours deepening on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. Get hold of your camera as you will be able to take lots of photos. There is no doubt that will be “a remarkable experience”!
