Journey to Tanzania
7-Day Journey of the Wildebeest - Luxury
$5090-5600 USD
ppSafari summary
This is a very special tour that concentrates in the Serengeti, to follow the great migration. You will spend at least 4 nights in the park, usually two in the Central Area (largest concentration of big cats) and two where the migration is according to the time of the year. We have designed this particular tour so that you finish the safari in the most remote location in the Serengeti, and then fly from there to your next destination. But we can redesign it to return to Arusha by land.

Itinerary
Day 01
Lake Manyara
You'll be picked up from your hotel to begin a scenic drive across the Great Rift Valley for a full-day game drive. Though small (205 sq miles), the park is known for its lush acacia forests, giant fig trees, and wildlife including baboons, blue monkeys, giraffes, elephants, impalas, buffaloes, and hippos. The game drives offer stunning photo opportunities with the lake as a backdrop. Optional activities like a bike or boat tour are available. In the afternoon, you'll return to camp for dinner.
Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge
Day 02
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater, one of the Natural Wonders of the World, spans 102 sq miles with 2,000 ft high walls. It's a haven for nearly every species native to East Africa, including the rare black rhino. The crater features a river, swamps, a soda lake filled with flamingos, forests, and open plains. It’s also famous for housing the world’s largest elephants with massive tusks.
Ngorongoro Lion's Paw Camp
Day 03
Serengeti
After an early breakfast, head to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. Though the drive is long, the breathtaking scenery makes it unforgettable, especially for first-time visitors. As you journey deeper, you’ll understand why “Serengeti” means “endless plains.” The park spans 6,900 sq miles (18,000 sq km), with vast plains stretching to the horizon. It's home to the Great Migration, 2 million wildebeests, countless zebras, antelopes, and big cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards.
Melia Serengeti Lodge
Day 04
Serengeti
You'll have a full day in the Serengeti National Park. We are completely flexible with your preferences and this day will be organized according to your wishes. On every day of the safari, your guide will discuss with you the best timings for you, including the game drives and the wake-up time. For example, on this day, you could do a morning game drive, return to the camp for lunch and relaxation and finish with an afternoon game drive.
Melia Serengeti Lodge
Day 05 - 06
Serengeti
On these two incredible days, you will be driven across remote locations within the vast Serengeti plains in pursue of the Great Migration. The areas you visit depend on the time of the year and could be as far as the remote North of the Serengeti near the border with Kenya, or could be in the South (Ndutu Area) or even in the Western part of the park. There is the possibility to downgrade or upgrade your accommodation level.
Nasikia Mobile Migration Camp (Kogatende)
Day 07
Serengeti
On this day, we suggest a very early wake-up in order to do an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active) and see one of the best sunrises you'll ever witness. It's really one of the most beautiful experiences to have. After the game drive, we will return to the camp for a rewarding brunch. Afterward, we'll proceed to the airstrip for your flight back to Arusha. Alternatively, instead of this early morning game drive, you may choose to stay at the camp for a bit of relaxation.
