Itinerary

Day 1:Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave Cam

Kilimanjaro

You’ll begin at the Umbwe Gate, trekking through the dense rainforest. The trail is steep and direct, passing under the thick canopy with chances of seeing some wildlife. You’ll set up camp at Umbwe Cave Camp, nestled in the forest.

Day 2:Umbwe Cave Camp to Barranco

Kilimanjaro

Today’s trail climbs steeply out of the forest and into the moorland zone. You’ll begin to notice the dramatic shift in vegetation as you ascend. The route merges with the Machame Route as you approach the scenic Barranco Camp, where you'll spend the night.

Day 3:Barranco Camp to Karanga Cam

Kilimanjaro

You’ll start the day by tackling the famous Barranco Wall, a steep rock scramble that requires some careful footing but isn’t technical. After the wall, you’ll traverse through valleys and ridges until reaching Karanga Camp. This is an excellent day for acclimatization.

Day 4:Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Today’s hike is shorter and less steep as you approach Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit push. You’ll arrive early enough to rest, prepare gear, and try to sleep before the midnight ascent.

Day 5:Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (S

Kilimanjaro

Around midnight, you’ll begin the summit attempt under the stars. You’ll ascend through heavy scree to reach Stella Point (5,739m), then continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After reaching the summit, you’ll descend back to Barafu for a rest before heading down to Mweka Camp..

Day 6:Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate Ele

Kilimanjaro

The final day is a descent through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate. Upon reaching the gate, you’ll receive your certificate for successfully climbing Kilimanjaro. A vehicle will then transfer you back to your hotel.
