Our trekking route shares similarities with the well-known Lemosho route but begins at a higher elevation of 3,600 meters, which can be quite demanding for those not acclimated to higher altitudes. The adventure starts at Shira Gate, advancing to Simba Camp on the first day. On the following day, you join the Lemosho Route at Shira Camp 2. However, the higher starting point can be a challenge, as many trekkers may experience altitude sickness early on due to the reduced time for acclimatization.

The trek across the Shira Plateau offers various route options. After Shira Camp 2, you can connect with the Machame Route via Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp through the Southern Circuit. The final ascent to Uhuru Peak is made via Barafu Camp and the southern slopes of Kibo.
