After breakfast, you’ll drive to Londorossi Gate, the official start of your trek. Here, the excitement truly begins as you embark on your journey through the dense rainforest. The trail is alive with the sounds of wildlife, and if you’re lucky, you might spot Colobus monkeys swinging through the trees. As you gain elevation, the forest begins to thin, and you’ll arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp, your first campsite, surrounded by the lush greenery of the mountain’s lower slopes.
