Safari summary
This 7-Day Great Serengeti Migration (Western Corridor) Safari package has been mapped out specifically to increase your chance to see the great Serengeti Wildebeest Migration in ndutu area. The area is filled with boundless grasslands. The area is part of the migratory cycle as the mass of herbivores graze and calves in the area between November and March, depending on the rains. The area is also a home to the big cats through the year but the best time to spot them is the calving time as the viscous predators prey on the vulnerable cubs. The calves have an extraordinary ability as they can stand on their feet just 2- 3 minutes after birth and they can join the herd in just about 5 minutes. Apart from its dazzling landscape and a good number of resident animals the greatest attraction in the area is the full circle of the great migration , from the return of the animals to graze the area in December, followed by calving in January and February and finally the departure in April as they head north in search of better pastures.

Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater
Highlights: The Ndutu area is renowned for its role in the Great Migration, as it’s where thousands of wildebeest and zebras congregate to calve during the rainy season. This period is excellent for witnessing newborn animals and predators in action. Experience: Expect large herds of wildebeest and zebras, and potentially see predators like lions and cheetahs taking advantage of the calving season. The landscape is usually lush and green, making for great wildlife viewing and photography.
NDUTU AREA
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti
Highlights: The Serengeti is world-famous for the Great Migration, which starts moving south from the northern regions to the southern plains. The park is vast, so you'll have ample opportunities to see the migration in action, along with other wildlife such as giraffes, elephants, and various bird species. Experience: Game drives in the Serengeti during this period will offer you the chance to see the migration at its peak, with thousands of wildebeest and zebras filling the plains.
. Tarangire National Park
Tarangire
Highlights: Tarangire is known for its large herds of elephants and unique baobab trees. While it doesn’t directly feature the migration, it offers excellent wildlife viewing with fewer tourists compared to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Experience: Expect to see large elephant herds, as well as diverse wildlife including giraffes, zebras, and lions. The park’s landscape is different from the Serengeti, with its baobabs and riverine vegetation creating a unique safari experience.
