This is why we choose to do the Western Breach or Lemosho routes in 7-8 days, setting our climbers up for success. Drive: Depart Arusha for Londorossi Gate (about 3 hours). Registration: Complete park formalities and meet the trekking crew. Trekking: Begin trekking through lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp. Overnight: Camp at Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp (3,505m) Trekking: Continue through rainforest, gradually ascending through moorland. Views: Reach the Shira Plateau with stunning views of Shira Cathedral. Overnight: Camp at Shira 1 Camp.

SHIRA 1 CAMP TO SHIRA 2 CAMP
Shira 2 Camp is the best place on the trip to see Mount Meru (the fifth summit of Africa), weather permitting. Then we continue to Moir Hut (4139m), a little used camping site on the base of Lent Hills, there are a variety of short walking trails making this an excellent acclimatization opportunity. MOIR HUT TO THE LAVA TOWER
After breakfast you will leave Moir Hut (4,139 m) and start your way to the key point of the route, the Lava Tower (4,630 m). Once we reach the Lava Tower we will stay here for 2 hours and enjoy lunch for proper acclimatization. After lunch we will pass by the Arrow Glacier (4876m) Change in Elevation: Moir Hut (4,139 m) — Barranco Camp(3,960 m) Hiking distance: 7 km Hiking time: 4-6 hours
BARRANCO CAMP
BARRANCO CAMP TO KARANGA
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673m) Trekking: Ascend through barren alpine desert to Barafu Camp. Preparation: Prepare for summit night with an early dinner and rest. Overnight: Camp at Barafu Campcclimatization hike and return to camp where you will enjoy a hot dinner. Hiking distance: 5 km Hiking time: 4-5 hours Acclimatization hike: Change in Elevation: Karanga Camp (4,035 m) — Chosen Point (4,200 m) Hiking distance: 2 km Hiking time: 1 hour
KARANGA CAMP
KARANGA CAMP TO BARAFU CAMP
If your group chooses option 2 the hiking begins at the crater camp making your ascent to Uhuru Peak (19,341ft or 5,895 m). This trekking can take about 1.5 hours. Congratulations on reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Spend some minutes celebrating your accomplishments and taking photos. ASCENT TO UHURU PEAK
Summit Attempt: Start early for the summit via Stella Point (5,756m). Achievement: Reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Descend: Descend back to Barafu Camp and further down to Mweka Camp. Overnight: Camp at Mweka Camp.

When you wake up, you will feel relief from the reduction of the height and the satisfaction of reaching the summit. After a warm breakfast, you will head for the park’s exit: Change in Elevation: Mweka Camp (3,048 m) — Moshi ( 1,524 m ) Hiking distance: 10 km Hiking time: 3-4 hours HOTEL CHECKOUT & DEPARTURE FLIGHT Hotel checkout is at 11am. From there a Professional Lush Expeditions guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight.
