Itinerary

Day 1

When you arrive in Rwanda, our expert tour guide will greet you and take you on a city tour of Kigali and the surrounding area to familiarize you with this beautiful land of a thousand hills. Following this tour, you will go to Virunga National Park, located north of Ruhengeri, passing through undulating and magnificent terraced hills that provide a clear view of Rwanda's overall geology and elevation.

Day 2

Volcanoes

At 6.30 a.m., enjoy a cup of tea or coffee before heading to the park headquarters in Kinigi. At the headquarters, you are assigned a ranger to track the gorilla family. Transfer from the park headquarters to the gorilla trekking trailhead. Porters are available for rent to transport your belongings and assist with the challenging climb to see the mountain gorillas. After nearly an hour of admiring these amazing apes, return to your lodging.

Day 3

After an early breakfast, check out and head to Kigali. Set out on a tour of one of Africa's most thriving and modern capital cities. Visit the Kigali Memorial Center, which features a moving display of Rwanda's perseverance in the aftermath of the mid-1990s genocide. You can also visit local markets to buy gifts like crafts and traditional apparel. Finish the excursion with a drop-off at your hotel or airport.
