Day 1
Bwindi Impenetrable
Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Your driver picks you up from your hotel/residence at 7.00am and embark on the 8-hour drive to southwestern Uganda. After almost 4 hours of drive, you make a stopover in Mbarara town for a lunch break at Agip Motel. Thereafter proceed and get to Bwindi, with incredible views of the spectacular mountain scenery of the rolling Kgezi Highlands. Check in at your accommodation, have dinner and rest the night. Meal plan: Half board (Lunch, Dinner)
Day 2
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience, Optional transfer to Lake Bunyonyi after trekking. Wake up to an early cup of coffee/tea, ready yourself in the trekking attire, pick parked lunch from the lodge and transfer to the meeting point for Gorilla trekking. It is here that you are asigned rangers by the park authority. The rangers brief you about everything you need to know about gorilla trekking in Bwindi, and especially empasize the DOs and DON'Ts whilst trekking and when around the gorillas. You are assigned a gorilla group you will trek. Note that not more 8 people can be assigned a single group. Currently bwindi harbors 12 habituated gorilla families which are available for tracking. After briefing and assigning of a famil, you transfer to the starting point of the trek into the jungles to locate the Mountain Gorillas. Note that these massive apes cover large distances whilst they feed, hence the time taken to locate them highly depends on where they could have spent the night. You could take from a few minutes to several hours while trekking before you find them. When you finally locate them, you are allowed not more an hour around. Return from the jungles to meet your driver, transfer to the briefing point one more time for final communication from the rangers, and thereafter to your accommodation for relaxt, have dinner and rest the night. Alternately, after trekking you could opt to transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, located 1 to 2 hours of drive from Bwindi. It is perfect place to refresh and relax in the cool soothing atmospher, moreover with such wonderful scenery of the terraces and highlands. Meal plan: Full board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 3
Lake Mburo
Day 3: Travel back to Kampala After breakfast, check out and embark on the return journey to Kampala. Lunch en-route in Mbarara town at Agip Motel. The drive through Lake Mburo National Park after Mbarara exposes you a some wildlife of the park, such as Zebras and Impalas. Another stopover is made at the Uganda Equator for some picture moments. Proceed to Kampala and drop-off to your hotel/residence. Meal plan: Half board (Breakfast, Lunch)
