Day 01

Day 01 - Arrival Windhoek Upon your arrival at Windhoek International airport, your tour guide will pick you up and take you to Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia. The 45km drive to your guest house/hotel is followed by a short city tour to give you the chance to gather first impressions. It will also give you a chance to find out more about the itinerary. The afternoon is open at your leisure. You may take a nap after the long flight, go to town or just relax at the swimming pool. Windhoek – Hotel Heinitzburg

Day 02

Day 02 - Kalahari Desert From Windhoek you will drive south towards the Kalahari region, with its wonderful red sand dunes. A variety of animals can be seen there, for example oryx, springbok, ostrich, zebra, blue wildebeest and a diversity of smaller species, which are perfectly adapted to their environment. In the afternoon you will go on a nature drive where you can enjoy a drink while watching the sun go down. Kalahari – Kalahari Bagatelle Lodge

Day 03

Day 03 - Namib Rand After breakfast we will pay a short visit to the town of Mariental after which you will for the first time encounter the farmland and the endless plains of the southern Namib Desert. While driving through the valleys of the Naukluft Mountains, we reach the private Wolwedans Game Reserve (“Dancing with the Wolves”). Around 3pm we arrive at the exclusive Wolwedans Dunes Lodge. You are welcomed with coffee and cake, and later on a sundowner drive to conclude off the day’s activities. Southern Namib – Wolwedans Dunes Lodge

Day 04

Day 04 - Namib Rand Today you are taken onto a nature drive in a Land Rover. We show you the extraordinary world of the Southern Namib Desert. The multitude of plants and animals, combined with the dunes, the silence and the wide openlandscape encountered here creates a very special atmosphere. Southern Namib – Wolwedans Dunes Lodge

Day 05

Day 05 - Swakopmund The safari continues through the Namib Desert, past the captivating valleys of the Ghaub and Kuisebrivers and the legendary „Vogelfederberg“, through Walvis Bay to Swakopmund. Swakopmund is a smalltown on the Atlantic coast. It is characterized by a strong German influence. With its colonial buildings and German flair, it invites you to sightsee and shop. A sundowner at the Atlantic coast makes your visit here an unforgettable one. In the evening locally caught fresh seafood is on offer in one of the many restaurants in town. Day 06

Day 06 - Swakopmund Today’s highlight is a boat trip with Mola Mola Safaris. In the lagoon of Walvis Bay you will witness the striking contrast between the ocean and the dunes. Experienced skippers show you the diversity of marine life, including the variety of seabirds that live there. Whilst you are finding out about the local history, oysters and other snacks, as well as some wine or beer, can be enjoyed. All boats are half canopied, and are equipped with seats, as well as an on-board toilet. After the outing, you will return again to Swakopmund where you spend the afternoon at your own leisure. Day 07

Day 07 - Damaraland The Skeleton Coast Park is our next destination. Here you will get to seethe wonderfully white dunes, a variety of rock formations, fauna and flora including the well-known Welwitschia mirabilis. The Damaraland with its fascinating landscape is home to animals such as the black rhino, elephant, springbok and others. Furthermore, it also builds a living space for endemic plants such as the bottle tree. The lichen species which you will see at the roadside are reputed to be the most interesting of their kind worldwide. Of course, you will also pay a visit to the seal colony at Cape Cross. We will be picked up at a specified point and taken to the Etendeka Mountain Camp. There you get a first impression of the wide open spaces of the Damaraland. Damaraland – Etendeka

Day 08

Day 08 - Damaraland Today you are guaranteed to experience one of the highlights of your tour through Namibia: rhino tracking. Namibia is one of the few countries on the African continent where a growth in the population of the Black Rhinoceros is recorded. In the Etendeka Conservancy you are very likely to spot a few specimens of this reclusive species. Damaraland – Etendeka Mountain Camp

Day 09

Day 09 - Twyfelfontein We will visit Twyfelfontein, where you can marvel at the largest collection of rock carvings on the African continent. The rock paintings, which apparently originate from the Stone Age, are the first and to date only world cultural heritage on Namibian soil. We will visit the Organ Pipes, the Burnt Mountain and also the Welwitschia mirabilis – a fascinating plant endemic to Namibia and Southern Angola of which many specimen are hundreds, if not thousands of years old. Day 10

Etosha

Day 10 - Ongava – Private Game Reserve Ongava Game Reserve is located close to the Etosha National Park. It is approximately 66,000 hectares in size. Lions, rhinos, elephants, as well as a big variety of other animals can be seen there. The lodge buys you over with its breathtaking view of the Mopane forest and waterhole. Alternatively, you can just relax at the swimming pool.  Central Northern Namibia – Ongava Lodge

Day 11

Etosha

Day 11 - Etosha Nationalpark The central parts of the Etosha National Park are dominated by the huge Etosha Pan with its fascinating mirages. During your game drive you are likely to be taken aback by the multitude of wildlife in the park. Many species of plains game such as zebra, elephant, giraffe, eland, oryx, springbok and kudu, inhabit Etosha National Park in large numbers. With a bit of luck you might also spot reclusive species such as lion, cheetah, leopard and black rhino. Hundreds of bird species inhabit the park. In summer, they are joined by a number of migratory birds. Many species of plains game such as zebra, elephant, giraffe, eland, oryx, springbok and kudu, inhabit Etosha National Park in large numbers. With a bit of luck you might also spot reclusive species such as lion, cheetah, leopard and black rhino. Hundreds of bird species inhabit the park. In summer, they are joined by a multitude of migratory birds.   At noon we will stop at Camp Halali where you enjoy a light lunch or simply freshen up in the swimming pool. We will also pay a visit to Fort Namutoni before we leave Etosha National Park. Our next stop-over is Onguma Tented Camp.  Etosha National Park – Onguma Tented Camp

Day 12

Day 12 - Okonjima – Africat Foundation In the early morning the tour proceeds towards Tsumeb.  On your way there you will visit Lake Otjikoto, where in 1915 the “German Schutztruppe” disposed their weapons to hide them from the South African army. Some of the weapons were recovered, and these can be viewed in the museum. We arrive at Okonjima Lodge at approximately 4pm. Central Northern Namibia – Okonjima Lodge

Day 13

Day 13 - Okonjima – Africat Foundation On a game drive you get the opportunity to see leopards and cheetahs. Lions, wild dogs and other African wild animals. Your visit to Okonjima guaranteed to be one of the truly fascinating experiences of your tour through Namibia. Here you learn how the Africat Foundation aims at contributing towards the survival of Namibia’s great predators.  Central Northern Namibia – Okonjima Lodge

Day 14

Day 14 - Windhoek After breakfast we depart for Windhoek. We will stop at the woodcarvers’ market in Okahandja, where you have a chance to buy some last-minute souvenirs. Arrival in Windhoek will be approximately at 3pm. Hotel Heinitzburg
