Welcome to our incredible African adventure, the 3-day Rwanda Gorilla Extension, 8-day Migration Safari, and 3-day Zanzibar beach retreat!

Your journey starts with a night of rest and recovery at a hotel in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city. The next day, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, where you will spend two nights at a comfortable lodge in the heart of the forest. During your stay, you’ll embark on a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience, led by expert guides who will take you through the dense jungle to track down the mountain gorilla families. Once you find them, you’ll spend a precious hour in their presence, observing their behaviour and interacting with them. It’s a truly unforgettable experience that will leave you with a deep appreciation for these amazing creatures and their importance in the natural world.

Next, you’ll begin your 8-day Migration Safari, starting in the Northern Serengeti where you’ll witness the famous Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras, and have the opportunity to see other magnificent wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, and giraffes. You’ll then move to the Central Serengeti, home to large predators such as lions and hyenas. Your journey continues to Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder and UNESCO World Heritage site where you’ll witness the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa. You’ll then visit Lake Manyara National Park, where you’ll see flamingos, tree-climbing lions, and other wildlife. Finally, you’ll end your safari adventure in Tarangire National Park, known for its large herds of elephants and ancient baobab trees.

08hr00 pick up your guide for the Rwanda section before spending some time at the Genocide Museum with lunch. After lunch, we depart for Volcanoes National Park (Parc National de Volcans) arriving for dinner and overnight.

On the morning of day 2 in Rwanda, we gather at the park headquarters and head off with the rangers for your Mountain Gorilla trek, which could be anywhere from a couple of hours to longer, we then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Northern Serengeti

We are up early this morning to depart Volcanos at 06hr00 for Kigali, arriving to check into our flight to Northern Serengeti departing at 10hr55. Met on arrival at 14hr20 in Northern Serengeti by your guide for the remainder of the trip. This afternoon we experience our first game drive in Serengeti as we make our way to the Camp for dinner and overnight.

We spend the next days exploring this area in search of the Migration, at this time of year we expect to see the migration crossing back and forth over the Mara River and with a little luck we may be able to witness this great spectacle.

This morning we depart for central Serengeti with a picnic lunch for game viewing, we explore central Serengeti until late afternoon arriving at camp for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast this morning we game view in Serengeti before making our way to the Ngorongoro highlands for dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

At the crack of dawn, we are up to depart the lodge and enter the Ngorongoro crater for game viewing with a picnic lunch. After lunch, we ascend the crater wall and continue to Rhotia for dinner and overnight.

This morning we game view in Manyara National Park before continuing to Tarangire for dinner and overnight. We also, experience a night game drive this evening.

Zanzibar

Early this morning, we will wake up to enjoy a final game drive in Tarangire National Park before transferring to Arusha airstrip for our flight to the beautiful island of Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, we will be met by our local representative and transferred to our accommodation, where we will be based for the next week. Our accommodation is located in a prime location, with easy access to all the sights, sounds, and tastes that Zanzibar has to offer.

End of Itinerary

Today we say goodbye to the beautiful island of Zanzibar as our adventure comes to an end. We will spend our final morning on the island soaking up the last rays of sunshine or taking one last dip in the crystal-clear waters. We will then pack up our things check out of our accommodation transfer to the airport for our flights back home.
