start of your 5-Day Marangu Route Trek! After a hearty breakfast, your expert guide will meet you at your lodge for a pre-trek briefing. You’ll then drive from Moshi to Marangu Gate (1,860m), the official starting point of the Marangu Route. As you begin your trek, you'll journey through lush rainforests filled with diverse flora and fauna.Your destination for the day is Mandara Hut (2,700m), a comfortable resting spot where you can enjoy the natural beauty of your surroundings.

Rise and shine amidst the refreshing mountain air.Today's leg takes you further along the Marangu Route, showcasing the enchanting heather and moorland terrains, providing you with remarkable views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Embrace the magnificent vistas as you progress through the 5-Day Marangu Route trek adventure, covering a distance of approximately 12km. By the end of the day, you'll arrive at Horombo Hut (3,720m), a well-deserved resting point along the 5-Day Marangu Route trek.

As you ascend higher towards the alpine desert on the 5-Day Marangu Route trek. Pass by the "Last Water Point" and traverse the mesmerizing Saddle, nestled between the iconic peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi, experiencing the unique terrain that the 5-Day Marangu Route trek is renowned for. After a challenging but rewarding trek of around 6-7 hours, you'll reach Kibo Hut (4,703m), where you'll rest and prepare for the final push towards Uhuru Peak. Total distance: 10km.
