Safari summary

Sport Safari is not only about sport, but also about safari and adventures. Murchison Falls Naional Park is the one of our favorite destinations. What a beauty this waterfall and savahna are! Don't miss a chance to visit it while you're in Uganda. Better to do it on a sunset when most of the visitors are already gone and the waterfall belongs only to you.

Game drives start in the early morning as well as in the evenings. This gives you a chance to observe various animals up close. The delta area, the Buligi Penisular and the southern sector are the main observation locations.

Our team can offer this adventure for you in a combination with game drives and physical activities (optional): cycling or running. We provide all the necessary equipment.

Bike rides and running routes mostly coincide with game driving routes and run along hundreds of kilometers of strong dirt roads of savannah and woodlands. However, it is possible to give speed to your workouts by moving to the tarmac roads of the park, where only occasional cars of rangers and park guests come across. But what else you can do in the park?

Cultural Tours. Enjoy spectacular Mubako tribal dances while sitting around a campfire, village walks, the traditional lifestyle of the locals, and the women's crafts of the Boomu community.

Chimpanzee Trekking. The green forest of Badongo hosts some of the best trekking trips to visit chimpanzees in Uganda. You will be able to get to know these great apes better.

Bird Watching. With a variety of species, including Alberta Rift endemics, waterfowl, and savannah woodland birds. Bird lovers will undoubtedly be well rewarded. Bird watching is possible during a boat cruise and hunting.

Nature walks and hiking. There are several trails in the park where you can walk through the forests of Rabongo and Kaniyo Pabidi to see birds and primates.

Murchison Falls National Park is the oldest national park in Uganda gazetted in 1.926 and is the largest wildlife Reserve in the country covering an area of 3.840 square km. The game you come across in the park includes elephant, hartebeest, leopard, lion, giraffe, buffalo, hippo, crocodiles and many species of antelopes. Aside from game, this park is renowned for its scenic beauty. Rolling savannah, tall grasslands and thick bush woodlands make the park. But you are advised not to miss out the magnificent waterfalls after which the park is named. Upstream of the Murchison Falls are the Karuma Falls, where the Nile cascades over 23 kilometres of rapids. Here you have some of the most exciting white water in Africa.

Itinerary

Transfer day, Murchison waterfalls

Murchison Falls

Meeting at the Entebbe airport, Kampala or Jinja. Our first stop will be in Masindi town where we'll have our lunch and where Ernest Hemingway stayed in 1923 with his wife after their plane cracked up in the wilds near the Murchison Falls but they were picked up unhurt by a launch taking tourists to the falls. We'll also arrive safely at Murchison in the evening and visit the waterfalls on the sundown when most of the visitors are already gone and the waterfall belongs only to you.

Red Chilli Rest Camp

Game drives and boat cruise

The second day will begin with a game drive after having your breakfast. You will embark on a game drive in one of the park's famous game viewing tracks; the Albert track, Buligi track or the Victoria track. Also, the area around Nyamsika gorge and its cliffs has a high concentration of game. After having lunch, you will head out for a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile. After it along the way we will take an evening game drive through the savannah in search of "big cats" and elephants.
