Itinerary

Dar es Salaam to Mikumi

Early morning our driver will pick you up from Dar Es Salaam from your Hotel and start safari to Mikumi National Park; the trip will take approximately 5 hours to arrive Mikumi National Park You can see zebras, lions, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeest, wildebeest, elephants, impala, warthog, eland and other antelopes. Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety. Mikumi National Park is mostly miombo woodland with gently rolling hills.

Full Day in Mikumi

In the morning after breakfast, leave for the full game drive with a packed lunch. Animals commonly found here include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and elephant. Wild dog can be seen in packs here. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the popular centerpiece of Mikumi, draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains. After game drive depart to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Mikumi to Dar es Salaam

After breakfast you will start the day with a cultural visit to a local Maasai village in Mikumi. If time allows, we’ll pass by the local women’s market. The Maasai are a popular traditional community in Tanzania and Kenya. This trip is optional so those rushing to make the journey back to Zanzibar can opt out of this cultural visit. Kindly let us know during the booking. Afterwards you will start your journey back to Dar-es-Salaam.
