Safari summary
Embark on an extraordinary 6-day Kilimanjaro Marangu Route climbing tour, offering a pinnacle experience by summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, one of the esteemed seven summits of the world, reaching an impressive height of 19,340 feet. The Marangu Route, known as the "Coca-Cola Route," stands out for its stunning scenery, making it the most scenic path on the mountain. This adventure takes you through a diverse range of ecological zones, starting from the lush rainforest and progressing to the breathtakingly beautiful yet harsh arctic zone.
It is the oldest and the most well-established route on the Kilimanjaro. The route is well-developed and the climb is constant and moderate. Only the approach to the summit is the exception as it is slightly more demanding. This is the only route which offers sleeping huts in dormitory style. The accommodation on this tour is in simple mountain huts, which might be an advantage compared to the camping routes.
Guests are supplied with mattresses and pillows, but sleeping bags are still required. The huts have communal dining halls, basic washrooms and toilets. The short time frame of the route makes altitude acclimatization fairly difficult. The route approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the southeast. Marangu is unfortunately less scenic than the other routes because the ascent and descent are along the same path. It is one of crowded route for that reason.
The main itinerary difference between the Marangu 5-days and 6-days Marangu route is the additional acclimatization day at Horombo on day three.
Throughout the journey, you will be accompanied by expert African guides who possess extensive knowledge about Mount Kilimanjaro and its surrounding environment. These guides are not only experienced in leading climbs but also share insights into the rich cultural and natural aspects of the region.
As you navigate the Marangu Route, you'll witness six distinct ecological zones, each offering a unique landscape and set of challenges. From the vibrant rainforest teeming with life to the surreal arctic zone, you'll traverse a spectrum of environments, making this climb not just a physical challenge but a visual feast.
Finally, the 6-day Kilimanjaro Marangu Route climbing tour is a comprehensive adventure that combines the thrill of summiting Mount Kilimanjaro with the beauty of diverse ecological zones. With expert guides, Signature Camping, and the most scenic route on the mountain, this tour promises an immersive and unforgettable experience for those seeking the ultimate Kilimanjaro ascent.
