Itinerary
Day 01
Day 01: Arrival in Nairobi Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your town hotel. Dinner at own arrangement. Overnight at the Eka Hotel. (BB)
Day 02
Nairobi
Day 02: Nairobi – Great Rift Valley - Lake Bogoria National Park Breakfast at your Hotel and depart afterwards for Lake Bogoria National Park. Drive through the scenic Great Rift Valley with a short stop at viewpoint for photo-opportunities. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hot springs on arrival at Lake Bogoria. With a bit of luck, you will encounter the rare Greater Kudu and thousands of Greater and Lesser Flamingoes, colouring the lake pink and making this one of the most scenic spots in East Africa. In the late afternoon move on to Lake Baringo where you will enjoy a short boat ride to your luxury tented Camp, situated on Olkokwe Island. Dinner and overnight at Tumbili Cliff Lodge. (FB)
Day 03
Day 03: Full day Lake Baringo After breakfast take a boat ride on the scenic Lake Baringo. You will be able to observe hippos and crocodiles as well as a great variety of stunning bird species. Your skipper will try to feed the fish eagles which will give you excellent photo opportunities. After lunch you may choose more activities. You can either relax and rest in this amazingly tranquil environment or opt to visit a traditional Njemps village on the island. The area overall is still largely unspoiled by tourism and will offer an honest insight into the lives of the people living on the lake. Dinner and overnight at Tumbili Cliff Lodge.(FB)
Day 04
Day 04: Lake Bogoria – Kakamega Forrest After a delicious breakfast and a boat ride back to mainland, you will continue in your private 4 x 4 vehicle to one of the last remaining rain forests in Kenya. Arrive in time for lunch at the intimate and in colonial style built “Rondo Retreat” This small but enchanting retreat is the best starting point for the anticipated walks/hikes through this tropical paradise. The garden will leave every bird watcher amongst you with a heart skipping for joy. A great variety of bird species can be observed from your cottage without having to wander into the forest itself. Dinner and overnight at Rondo Retreat Center. (FB)
Day 05
Day 05: Full day Kakamega Forest Today, a beautiful hike is on the agenda, but of course weather permitting. However, on most days the weather is clear and great for a guided forest walk. You may opt to rest instead, if you prefer to enjoy the tranquil surroundings from the privacy of your cottage. You may also encounter a great diversity of different reptiles and insects that live in this forest, which cannot be found anywhere else in Kenya. Dinner and overnight at Rondo Retreat. (FB)
Day 06
Masai Mara
Day 06: Kakamega Forest – Masai Mara Game Reserve After an early breakfast set off for the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive in time for late lunch at the intimate and well located Mara Bush Camp. Enjoy your first extensive game drive in the park, offering unsurpassed game viewing. Dinner and overnight at Mara Bush Camp. (FB)
Day 07
Masai Mara | Serengeti
Day 07 - 09 : Masai Mara Game Reserve Today you will explore the vastness and strikingly beautiful scenery of this world class Game Reserve. Your personal guide and private 4 x 4 vehicles will be at your disposal throughout all days, while you are in the Masai Mara. You will enjoy unlimited game drives, choosing the number of drives and duration of each. You may also wish to take “packed meals” with you and spend the whole day or a full morning out in the bush. The great migration of wildebeest takes place between July and November. During this time, approx.1.5 million wildebeest will move from the Serengeti Eco-system into the Greater Masai Mara Reserve. Due to the massive wildlife movement, the Big Cats are highly active and with a bit of luck you may be able to watch a “kill”. Dinner and overnight at Mara Bush Camp. (FB)
Day 10
Masai Mara | Nairobi
Day 10: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi Wake up early for your last morning game drive in the Reserve. After a scrumptious breakfast you will leave the Mara with a game drive en-route back to Nairobi. Pass through the Maasai Town of Narok and arrive Nairobi in the late afternoon. (at approx. 16.00 hrs) You may opt to do some souvenir shopping (or a late lunch/ early dinner – extra cost) or go straight to the main airport, depending on what time your international flight departs. Should you wish to extend your safari to another destination or enjoy a beach holiday, we will be happy to arrange these “additions” and internal flights for you. End of Safari
