Marangu to Mandala Hut

Begin the day with breakfast, . Drive to Marangu Gate on Kilimanjaro's eastern side. Complete required paperwork at the park gate, starting the hike at approximately 9:30 AM. Trek through the captivating rainforest from the 6,000 feet park gate to Mandara Hut at 9,000 feet. The hike, including a lunch stop halfway, takes 3 to 4 hours, reaching Mandara Huts around 01:00 PM. Explore the area briefly, settle in for an evening meal, and spend the night in the Hut.

Mandala Hut to Horombo Hut

Wake up to a 7:30 AM breakfast, prepare for the journey, and depart by 8:30 AM. Trek through serene rainforest, then ascend through heathland and open moorlands, spotting unique flora. Enjoy lunch with stunning Mawenzi views. Reach Horombo Huts by 3 PM, glimpse Kibo's summit. Rest, unpack, and prepare for dinner; restrooms with running water available. Note altitude effects; choose an extra day's rest at Horombo or climb to a basecamp below Kibo's sub-peak, Mawenzi, for acclimatization.

Start your day with breakfast, and if awake early, capture sunrise photos. Hike through diminishing heathland, entering a lunar-like landscape toward the vast Mawenzi-Kibo saddle. At lunch, observe Kibo's summit ascent. Be vigilant for altitude sickness symptoms. Note: No running water is available at Kibo Huts.

Kobo Hut to Uhuru Peak

Rise at midnight, grab a light breakfast for the summit ascent. Depart at 1 AM, navigating scree or snow to Gilman’s Point on the crater rim (5,861 m/18,640 ft) for stunning views. Two more hours along the crater rim lead to Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point, by 9 AM. Descend to Kibo Huts after summit celebrations, have lunch, rest, collect belongings, and return to Horombo Huts. Enjoy dinner and a well-deserved sleep!

Wake up as usual, pack, and descend through the moorland to Mandara Huts. Enjoy lunch and continue descending through lush forest to the park gate, expected by 2 or 3 PM. Tip your guides, cooks, and porters as you part ways. A vehicle will transport you to the Hotel
