Day 1: Machame Gate – Machame Camp
Kilimanjaro
After breakfast in the morning, you will be picked up from your accommodation and driven 45 minutes from Moshi to Machame Gate. The National Park officials will register you at the gate. After getting everything ready, you can start on your hike into the green rainforest. On the way to Machame camp, which takes approximately 5 to 6 hours to arrive, there's a chance you can discover some Black-and-White Colobus monkeys. At 3010 meters, you will spend the night somewhat over the woodland line.

DAY 2: Machame camp - Shira Camp

Though it's a shorter distance, the trail today will be a little steeper than it was on day one, and you should arrive at your goal by early afternoon. You can choose to go on to Shira 2 Camp for stunning views of the Shira Plateau after taking a break. In the distance is Mount Meru, Tanzania's second-highest mountain. We're going to stay the night in Shira Camp.

Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp

You will climb roughly 700 meters today to the steep and impressive Lava Tower, and then you will descend back to Barranco Camp. As you ascend to an altitude of more than 4600 meters, this will provide your body with an excellent opportunity to acclimate for the next few days. During the course of the day, the scenery will drastically shift as you drop into the verdant, lush Barranco Valley. Arrive at Barranco Camp, which is located directly below the towering Barranco Wall.

Day 4: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp

It's not as difficult as it appears, and your guide will help you get through it in less than an hour. On top of Barranco Wall, you can see Kibo's southern glaciers and take a quick break before continuing on to Karanga Camp. This camp is just about 100 meters higher than Barranco Camp, giving your body more time to adjust to the altitude. After lunch, you have the option of taking a short round trip to Barafu Camp for additional acclimatization, or staying at the camp.

Early in the morning you will begin the hardest part of the hike at sunrise. You should reach Stella Point, the edge of Kibo crater, after about 5-7 hours of intense climbing on ash and rubble trails. From Stella Point, you will reach Kilimanjaro's highest camp - Crater Camp - located at 5,730m above sea level. From there, you have breathtaking views of the surrounding glaciers
