Itinerary

Pickup from the airport

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked up from Entebbe airport by our Company representative/ Safari driver who will drive you to your booked Hotel at Central Inn Entebbe. This night is booked on bed and breakfast depending on your arrival time. Should you arrive early, take an optional visit to Botanical Gardens, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre or Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary located approximately 23 km in Lake Victoria. Our journey starts with an early breakfast at the Hotel and later we drive through Entebbe to Kampala, the journey takes you through suburbs of the city and you get to see the real lifestyle of Ugandans. This journey is punctuated with great sightseeing, tea plantations, changes in vegetation, and rolling hills. With approximately 5-6 hours drive, you will arrive in Fort Portal town for lunch before proceeding to the hotel in Kibale forest National Park.

Chimpanzee Trekking &Wetland Walk

This day is for exploring one of the best places to view primates. After breakfast, we will drive to the park headquarters in time for briefing. He will also take you through the dos and don’ts while with chimpanzees. With your walking stick, you will start your walk to the forest and once you finally land on chimpanzee, you will be allowed one hour of viewing and photography. After tracking, we will go for a lunch break and then in the evening proceed to Bigodi wetland for a walk.

We will have a relaxed breakfast in the morning and then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will enjoy great views of Mountain Rwenzori ranges all the way through. As part of our community campaign, this day will be spent in Katwe where you will visit Katwe Salt Lake and mines to observe how the local communities are engaged in salt extraction from the lake for their survival. We will then drive to Irungu Safari Lodge Dinner and overnight

After your morning cup of tea/coffee, you will head off to Kasenyi in the heart of the Park and game drive here is rewarding. You will have an opportunity to view cats, buffaloes, elephants, hippos, among others. After your game drive, you will drive back to your lodge for breakfast and some relaxation. After lunch, you will drive to Kazinga Channel for a boat ride. Kazinga Channel has the highest concentration of hippos in the whole world. Drive back to the Lodge for Dinner and overnight

You may go for an optional Kyambura gorge walk this morning. We advice that this activity is organized on ground as this is a group tour. If there is no body interested in Kyambura Gorge walk, then you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park a journey that takes approximately 4-5 hours drive. Enjoy your lunch en route or at the Buhoma Haven Lodge. Spend the rest of the evening relaxing as you prepare for your gorilla trekking exercise the next day. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

Bwindi Impenetrable

After breakfast and with your packed lunch, you will drive to the park headquarters and the briefing Centre as well. You will be briefed on how to behave while you are with the gorillas. After briefing, and in the company of your ranger guide, you will face the forest to search the gorillas. Once you encounter these rare species, you will spend one hour with them and there after you will walk or drive back to your lodge. Later in the evening you will visit Batwa pygmies community.

After your breakfast, we drive through the hilly Kigezi region to Mbarara town for lunch and then proceed to Lake Mburo National Park which is approximately 6-7 hours drive. This small National Park is famous for the highest numbers of impalas and Elands in Uganda, and other wildlife which include Zebras, buffaloes. You will enjoy an evening boat cruise on lake Mburo which is a one of the very few down warped lakes in Uganda. You will then retire to Eagle’s Nest for Dinner and overnight.

After an en route morning game drive, we will drive back to Entebbe with stops at the Equator and then proceed to the Airport for check in depending on your flight out details. Breakfast and Lunch is included. The drive time is approximately 5-6 hours.
