Itinerary
Day 1: Machame gate - Machame Camp
Kilimanjaro
After breakfast, you'll head to the Kilimanjaro entrance gate. Your guide will handle registration while you prepare for the climb. Your Kilimanjaro journey begins in the stunning mountain rainforest with ancient trees and unique flora. Look out for black and white colobus monkeys. After 5-6 hours, you'll reach Machame Camp, just above the tree line, for dinner and an overnight stay in tents.
Overnight at Machame Camp
Day 2: Machame Camp-Shira Camp
Kilimanjaro
After an early morning start, the path steepens. The landscape changes into heath and moorland and the open landscape allows you to see the impressive mountain range. Today’s stage is shorter than the previous day and you will arrive at the New Shira Camp by mid-afternoon. The camp has a breath-taking view of the mountain and during sunset, the evening sun lights the rock face and glacier of Kibo.
Overnight at Shira camp
Day 3: Shira-Lover Tower- Barranco
Kilimanjaro
Today's climb gains about 800 meters in elevation, preparing you for altitudes above 4,500 meters in the coming days. The journey starts with an ascent above the Shira Plateau towards the Lava Tower. Passing the Kibo peak junction, we head southeast to the Lava Tower, often called the "Shark's Tooth." Afterward, we reach the Arrow Glacier junction at 16,000ft. The route crosses the Barranco Valley with its unique flora, leading to the picturesque Barranco Camp after 6-7 hours.
Overnight at Barranco Camp
Day 4: Barranco - Karanga Camp
Kilimanjaro
After sleeping below the Great Barranco Wall, you get your chance to tackle this hurdle. Continue up until you reach just below the Heim Glacier. Then head down through the Karanga Valley. This is the last place for your porters to gather water. They will collect all the water for the remainder of the ascent here. You will settle in here at the Karanga Camp. After lunch, you can spend the afternoon doing light exploring or resting while taking in the views of Mawenzi’s towering spires
Overnight at Karanga Camp
Day 5: Karanga to Barafu/kosovo
Kilimanjaro
Awakening to the sunlight dancing off the Kibo Summit, you will enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting out to today’s destination – Barafu Camp. Most of the day will be spent walking through very dry desertic terrain, with Kibo ever present on your left side. After 3 to 4 hours you will reach Barafu Camp, where you will have an early dinner and night as the highlight of your trip is only a few short hours away.
Overnight at Barafu/Kosovo Camp
Day 6: Barafu/Kosovo -Crater Camp
Kilimanjaro
The day starts particularly early today. You’ll keep up with the sunrise in order to begin the most challenging day of any you’ll spend on the mountain. After 5-7 hours of climbing the scree and ash paths of the Kibo, you will arrive at Stella Point, the crater rim of Kilimanjaro. From here you will then hike down to the Crater Camp which lies at an altitude of 5730 m, making it the highest camp on the mountain.
Overnight at Crater Camp
Day 7: Crater Camp -Summit -mweka
Kilimanjaro
The final ascent begins at sunrise, lasting around two slow and challenging hours due to high altitude. You'll reach Uhuru Peak (5895m), the "Roof of Africa," with breathtaking views. After a break and celebration, return to Barafu Camp before noon for a warm meal. Then, descend to Mweka Camp (3080m) in about 3 hours. Enjoy an evening meal, relax, and get a good night's sleep.
Overnight at Mweka Camp
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka-Moshi
Kilimanjaro
The final leg of your amazing adventure begins after breakfast with a traditional farewell ceremony from the mountain crew. Then a gentle 2 to 3 hours’ descent through the rainforest continues to Mweka Gate, where your driver will be waiting for you. He will take you back and after a warm shower, the rest of the day is free to relax, relax at the pool or celebrate your achievement.
