Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and a transfer to Marangu Gate, the starting point of the Marangu Route. After registration and a briefing, start your hike through the lush rainforest. The trail is well-maintained, but the high altitude may make it challenging. After approximately 3-4 hours of hiking, you'll reach the Mandara Hut, your accommodation for the night. The huts are basic but comfortable, with bunk beds and shared bathrooms.

After breakfast, continue your hike through the alpine meadows and moorlands towards the Horombo Hut. Along the way, you'll pass by the stunning Maundi Crater and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
